Mark will be playing a benefit show for Melissa Ciocian, a long time
friend who was severely injured in a skiing accident earlier this year.
The event will take place on June 10, 2007 at the Lazy J Ranch in
beautiful Walcott, CO. Mark will be joined by several guests to be
determined, and the show is being billed is "Mark Brut & Friends."
Several other bands will be on the bill as well as a silent auction and
a variety of other activities. All information on this event can be

Loose Cannon is picking up steam and support with each show. The
spring was highlighted by a show at the Pour House in Raleigh, NC for
the 3rd annual Ribs N Whiskey BBQ during Widespread Panic weekend. The
band was joined by good friends Josh Stack, Jeff "Birdogg" Lane and
Tommy "T-Dubs" White as guests. Stay tuned for more summer dates in the
coming weeks.

Brian Barfield at Gottrocks in Greenville, SC to excellent response!!!

taping the show. Mark also sat in with Outformation for "Valley Blue",
"Can't Change The Past", "A of D" and "You Got Yours" during this show.
Mark was honored to sit in with good friends Cuban Stack at the Down On The Farm festival
in Quincy, FL on November 12, 2006. Mark played guitar on a version of
Neil Young's "Powderfinger" and the Cuban Stack original "Legacy." Work
continues on recording Mark's debut CD. Once recording is complete, the
plan is to have the CD mixed by David Barbe at Chase Park Transduction
in Athens. Stay tuned!
The debut of Mark's new electric project occurred on June 3, 2006 at
the Fox Brothers BBQ in Atlanta! The new band features Rich Grillo on
bass and Ryan Marcus on drums. The sound is raw and rockin'...expect to
see more of this. The set also featured a sit in from Jeff "Birdogg"
Lane of Outformation on
percussion.
Speaking of Outformation,
Mark was thrilled to catch up with the boys at the Fox Brothers BBQ.
Mark sat in on acoustic for "24 Hours at a Time" and "Edgewater" to
open the second set, as well as "A of D", "Burned Faceless", "Long Hard
Ride" and "Can't You See" to close the show. Mark also appeared with
Outformation the following day on several songs at a private event in
Black Mountain, NC. Outformation is riding a big head of steam right
now...if you have not checked them out, you are missing out.
There have also been plenty of other interesting collaborations as
of late. Most recently, on June 15, 2006 Mark appeared as part of a
benefit show at the Georgia Bar in Athens to benefit the Michael
Houser Music Fund. Mark sat in with Josh Stack
for a version of Houser's "This Part Of Town" and Stack's set ended
with a rousing version of "Will The Circle Be Unbroken" with Tony G on keyboards and Betsy Franck and Anna Broach on
vocals. The night ended with everyone sitting in with members of Bloodkin on a version of The Band's "The
Weight." This show was a total blast for a great cause!
Mark also recently sat in with local Athens musicians
Adam Klein and Meghann Jordan in Athens. Check out
Adam's new CD, "Distant Music."
Mark just finished a run of shows as an "acoustic duo" with New Jersey musician jpat,
including shows in Atlanta, Athens, Jacksonville and St. Simons Island.
Mark and jpat previously collaborated back in the summer of 2005.
Selected songs from these shows will be posted on the site shortly.
Mark was honored to add electric guitar to a track on the forthcoming CD by Brian Sofer
during a recent session in Atlanta. The track in question is called
"Rubberband Man." Mark and Brian collaborated briefly back in 2003
prior to Brian's relocation to the great state of Colorado. Sofer is an
outstanding songwriter, so be sure to check out his site and music!
Mark recently sat in with Atlanta-based band Moontower at Smith's Olde Bar in
Atlanta. Mark played on their original "I Think It's True." Check these guys
out!
In August 2005, Mark paired with friend Scott Holcomb for a benefit show for Panic Fans For Food at Baron's Pub in
Portsmouth, VA, with all proceeds benfitting the Southeastern Virginia food
bank.
Mark sat in again with long time influence Jerry Joseph at The Fire
in Philadelphia on August 1, 2005 for a version of the Joseph original
"Panama." Joseph was joined on his solo acoustic tour by jpat
on mandolin, guitar and vocals, and Adam Sorensen on drums. Jpat sat in
with Mark on May 15, 2005 at the Fox Brothers BBQ for "The Sky's All
Mine" and "Almost There" and Mark and jpat joined the Jackmormons that
night for versions of "War At the End Of The World" and "Brother
Michael."
Mark was honored to play as a guest member of Outformation
for several runs of shows in February and May 2005, including shows in
Atlanta, Birmingham, Auburn, Mobile, Oxford, Charlotte, Savannah and
